So, yesterday was my first day of grad school. I got super nervous right before I had to go to class. I soon realized that my nerves were unwarranted simply because my statistics teacher operates at the enthusiasm level of an 8 year old. He's quite a trip. Best thing about him though, is that he gave us the option to work in groups. We got to pick the size of our groups and we also got to opt out of group work all together! WOOHOO!!!! I absolutely despise having to work in a group. It's lame and ends up being another excuse for people to be lazy and me to work hard. No me gusta. So, all in all, I like the teacher. Statistics should be interesting. I'm excited to see how it applies to education.
Today, I have my second class, Teaching Science in the Elementary School. I'm very excited about this one because really, I know nothing about science. Well, that's a lie. I know something. But not very much. I know absolutely nothing about teaching science though, so I guess my previous statement was grounded in truth. So, I'm interested to see what kind of fun experiments and teaching methods I learn from this class.
Other than that, work has been lame. Nothing exciting happens. The kids are back now, so the office is just louder than it was the past two weeks. All of the counselors are running around with their heads cut off because 'it's so busy', but I don't feel the same way at all. Maybe it's just because I have a higher tolerance for multitasking? I mean, if you've worked Valentine's week at a florist, you can handle any kind of busy that the world can throw at you. So, I'm just coasting through and waiting for my contract to get signed. Yup, no contract. Which means that I'm working volunteer hours with the expectation that FAU will pay me for my time.... hmmm. But, I'll keep on trucking and be appreciative that I have a job. There are worse things that could happen.
Off to another day of work now.
Peace, Love and Reeses Puffs.
