So. Much. News!

Alright, here is the blog posting of all blog postings. There is so much to cover, so I apologize in advance for the sheer length of this entry.
Here it goes:

Well, my baby sister left to travel across the hemisphere to Chile last night. She's quite the adventurer. She always has been. See, I'm exactly the opposite of her in that respect. Nothing makes me happier than staying at home. I have no innate desire to travel or to experience other cultures. It's just not me. And that is why I am staying at home while Kelly lives with a family in Chile for a semester. Yeah, no thanks. But, whatever floats her boat, I guess. If my personality weren't enough to discourage me from taking this trip (or one like it), her travel arrangements sure did me in. Last night, her flight left Raleigh, NC at 8:00pm. She arrived in ATL soon there after and left for Chile around 10:00pm. After a 9 or 10 hour flight to Chile, she has to get on a bus and ride another 10 or so hours to the town where she will meet her host family. Originally, the plan was for her to arrive at her final destination around 9:00 tonight; but, for whatever reason, she isn't scheduled to get there now until 6:45 tomorrow morning! I don't know why, but I guess that's the nature of plans - they always seem to change. So now, I'm waiting on Kelly's next update because she is sans cell phone for the next 5 months. Hopefully, she emails me soon.

Next exciting thing: I GOT A JOB!!!!!
Well, it's an internship, but a paying gig none-the-less. I'll be working at the FAU Student-Athlete Center for Academic Excellence. I'm one of three interns and will be working with the two other people on various projects in the office. This job is comprised of tons of tiny little jobs that I hope to be able to pick up on quickly. I've never had a job where my responsibilities are clearly outlined before. It should be interesting.
Really though, I'm just happy to have a job. A reliable source of income. Wow. I can't believe it was that easy. This position is only for 9 months though, so I'm going to be back on the market come May. So, we'll see where I end up. Tomorrow is my meeting to sign paperwork and get signatures from all of the powers at be. Should be interesting.

The final interesting development that I have to report is that Mike and I are no longer looking for a place to live. No, we didn't move into our dream home. As a matter of fact, we haven't moved at all. We're staying at our parent's houses. Yeah, it's lame, I know. But besides the fact that we just don't have the money to move out, it's pretty nice to be home. I mean, don't get me wrong, there's nothing like being on your own and not having to answer to anyone. But, it's pretty neat to be able to spend time with mom after I've been gone for so long. The house is so empty now. It's just me and mom and the animals (Sophie, Brandi and Waldo). We've been going to the gym every day and eating healthy, so who knows, maybe I'll lose some weight during my stay at home. Wouldn't that be nice!?!

Well, that's really all i have to report at this point in time. I have to go watch an orientation video for my new JOB now. I really am very excited to be starting so many new things. Maybe tomorrow, I'll go do some school supply shopping :) That's always fun. I love back to school. (But more on that later.) Orientation video.... AHOY!!!!
